Abu Dhabi lntemational Airport Abu Dhabi International Airport's current US$6B billion expansion and redevelopment plan involves the construction da new midfield passenger terminal, cargo and maintenance tackles and other commercial developments. lhe project will pmtflde a top-quality home base for Etihad, the national airline d the UAE, and facilitate the expansion of its operations.

The 21,000 square metres of visitor concourse and 7,500 square metres of multi·purpose halls.

The complex will also feature dedicated conference facilities for 1,200 people, banqueting areas and more than 30 high·specihcation meeting rooms. lt will form the heart of Capital Centre, a major new mixed use tourism, commercial and residential development.

The Al Gurm Resort Br Spa

The Al Gurm Resort Br Spa is under construction among the mangroves off the Coast Road, on the west of the island, and will be an eco-friendly development. The 161 suite luxury hotel is scheduled to open in late 2007, with luxury villas and signature island villas opening at a later date. In total there will be 59 homes, situated along a private beach. AI Raha Already well known for its lovely beach, the AI Raha district close to the airport is to be transformed through the development of a 6.8 million square metre site. lt will reach along the highway on reclaimed land and offer residential, cultural and entertainment facilities as well as several new hotels. AI Reem Island A major residential, commercial and business project is to be built on the natural island of Al Reem, located just 300 metres off the north-eastern coast of Abu Dhabi city. The island will eventually accommodate 280,000 inhabitants and a range of amenities like schools, shopping malls, restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, hotels, resorts, spas, gardens and beaches. Abu Dhabi is one of the three projects being built on Al Reem. This $6.9 billion project will contain around 100 skyscrapers (including the 83 storey Sky Tower), 22,000 residential units and a million square metre park. Another is the S8 billion Najmat Abu Dhabi, a world class, integrated, multi-functional and mixed use project. Property on Al Reem is available to all nationalities on an extendable 99 year leasehold basis. The first phase is expected to be completed by summer 2009. Corniche Redevelopment Abu Dhabi's showpiece seafront esplanade, the corniche, has undergone massive redevelopment over the last few years. This work has included the creation of a number of attractive public parks, walkways and cycle paths. Emirates Pearl The Emirates Pearl will be a sparkly addition to Abu Dhabi"s soaring skyline. The 47 storey block has been designed by Aussie architect Dennis Lems and will sit on a 22 metre high podium, housing restaurants and shops. The tower itself will hold a hotel and apartments.

Khalidiya Mall Construction is now complete on the much—anticipated Khalidiya Mall, which spreads across 80,000 square metres over two floors. The mall is designed in distinctive Islamic architectural style, and includes an atrium, a summer garden, fountains, cafes and a foodcourt. The Quay Development The city’s Tourist Club area is to be redeveloped on quite 6 grand scale.There will be a stack of new leisure, residential and commercial buildings, including a 620 room, five—star hotel, shops and office blocks. lt will have Abu Dhabi’s first aquarium, a gated residential community of around 400 apartments available to lease and office space. The whole development will be known simply as’The Quay'and will include a 60 berth marina.There will also be a public promenade for visitors to stroll along and a range of harbour-view cafes and restaurants. Construction ofThe Quay should be completed by 2010. Saadiyat Island , Located on a 27 square kilometre natural island 500 metres off the coast of Abu Dhabi city is a huge residential, business, cultural and leisure development. It will incorporate two championship golf courses, l9km of beaches and a range of top class leisure, entertainment and cultural facilities including the Guggenheim and Louvre museums. A staggering 29 hotels have been planned as well as 8,000 villas and 38,000 apartments.To be developed in three phases the entire project should be completed by 2018.

Shams Abu Dhabi
Shams Abu Dhabi is self contained community being built on Al eem island close to Abu Dhabi. Bisected by canals and pedestrian walkways it will include commercial, entertainment and residential districts. as well as five-star hotel and a marina completion is in 2011
